Ten years ago today, a wee idea that I had became a reality and Galloway Chillies was born!

It’s not been the easiest of years but it’s definitely been fun! Lots has been learned and we continue to do so. One thing that has always been a constant is growing chillies as that is our main love but we have missed making preserves. So, when the opportunity arose to make a batch, we thought what better way than to make Chilli Original to celebrate reaching our ten year anniversary.

It's been quite a while since we’ve been in the kitchen but we did it and made our biggest ever single batch. I have to say that I couldn’t wait until it cooled down, so that I could reach for the cheese and enjoy some chilli with it on an oatcake! Yes, maybe I am biased but wow have I missed that combo and although the batch was only made a few days ago, that jar is nearly empty.

Ten years ago I also had the courage to approach a local business to ask if they would stock our preserves. I was delighted when they said yes and even though the business grew along with the number of our stockists, this local shop always sold more than anyone else. That business has also grown in those ten years and has moved location but we are pleased to announce that Steven Cronnie Family Butchers will be the only place currently that you will be able to purchase Chilli Original and yes he already has stock in the shop.

So the only question is, will this be a one off or shall we make more? Well, that customers, is up to you. YOU decide whether we continue production.

Here’s to many more years of Galloway Chillies (whether we make preserves or just continue to grow chillies) and thank you all so much for your support over the first ten years!
