The future?

05 Jun 2020

Wow, what a year this has been so far is probably the biggest understatement you could make!

We had lots of plans for the business including last month going back into production through a collaboration with a charity. But with lock down this won't be happening anytime soon.

We were getting really proud of the selection of hardy herbs that we had grown and nurtured over the winter, which had been destined for a sector that has also been hit hard by the pandemic.

So at the moment I have got lots of chilli plants and a fantastic selection of herbs, including over 20 varieties of mint which are all looking great either under glass or enjoying all the sun in the garden. But I'm not complaining as at least I have a large outdoor space where I can tend my plants every day and watch them grow and develop.

This is a time to reflect and look closely at your business model and where it's going. Which is something that I've been doing a lot of lately and one thing that was being implemented albeit slowly is to think even more about the environment than we were.

We’re been using wooden labels for the last year but did you know that we are slowly phasing out all plastics? The pots we have are continually reused but any new ones that we purchase are biodegradable! So any herbs or chillies that you purchase from us in the future won't be in plastic pots.

I also completed green champions training a few months ago which again made us look at our environmental footprint. These are only small steps but small steps that we are proud to be taking.
