Evening. My plan to write a weekly blog is not going according to plan so I’ve therefore made the decision to try fortnightly and hope I can stick to that.

I hope you are all surviving this awful weather we are having. The ground is saturated here but the chilli babies are all snuggly. They are either still in the Vitopod or have been re-potted and moved into the insulated heated greenhouse under lights. We have a third of our chillies now growing but a long way to go yet.

We attended our newest regular market on the 1st Saturday of the month at West Linton. What a lovely range of producers and a great atmosphere. We are already looking forward to our next market in March. I also used the opportunity to visit one of our newest stockists – Hogan’s Fine Food Company, Falkirk. What a great shop this is with a wonderful range of food. If you’re ever in the area I thoroughly recommend a visit.

Today was a shock to the system as we had some sunshine. I can’t remember when we last had some. The chilli seedlings were loving the sunshine and it also gave me the opportunity to take some photographs in the garden and tunnel.

So it is nearly the weekend and as usual we have lots planned. First and foremost I must post out some chilli seed orders and I’ve also a preserve order to sort out that is going to Texas. Then the plan is to move the polytunnel that we dismantled before Christmas. We so need to get it into position and covered or I’ll be out of space for chilli plants.

We are hoping to grow a lot of the chillies ourselves this year that we will be using in our products but also have a good selection of plants for sale.

Oh and it will be the second #ChilliHour on Twitter on the 17th February and we are still looking for some questions. So please feel free to send us some.
