Dumfries and Galloway business, Galloway Chillies are launching a new chilli hot toddy at this year's Wigtown Book Festival.
Galloway Chillies are pleased to announce that Chilli Rocks will be launched today at Wigtown Book Festival where they will be trading in the Kist. This latest product has been made in collaboration with award winning Rock Rose Gin based in Caithness.
Speaking about her latest product, Sheena Horner said:
I was talking to Claire of Rock Rose Gin one day and we were discussing hot toddies. Supposedly a hot toddy was originally made with Gin, which of course got me thinking. We are so pleased with the success of Chilli Burns but not everyone likes whisky so this toddy is a slightly milder heat and contains gin of course.
Chilli Rocks will add sweet music to your meals and platters with the beautiful balanced flavour notes of this premium chilli preserve. Or for a warm, comforting drink, add a large spoonful to a mug of hot water, stir, sip and relax as your stresses are soothed away. Made with lovingly tended Galloway chillies, Rock Rose Gin, citrus fruits and rosemary.
The traditional honey has also been omitted from this toddy and instead it has a slight hint of Rosemary which has been hailed since ancient times for its medicinal properties.
Chilli Burns has been:
- Placed second in their category in the World Hot Sauce Awards 2015
- Short listed for the Great British Food Farm Produce Awards 2015
- Short listed in Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards 2015
- WINNER of Best Chilli Preserve at Devon Chilli Fiesta 2014
