July Blog

10 Jul 2014

Hello and welcome to our latest (very late) blog. So much for blogging monthly , so I promise not to make any more promises on the frequency of our blogs!

The Chilli Babies have grown up quite a bit and could probably be more aptly titled Chilli Teenagers at present. We have just over 60 varieties this year including one Carolina Reaper which I'm pleased to say is now covered in chilli flowers.

Chilli Festival season is now in full swing and to date we have attended the Devon Chilli Fiesta and the North East Chilli Festival. Next month we will be at the Lakes Chilli Festival and the East Midlands Festival.

Please see our events page for the dates and places of where we will be over the coming months.

New labels and products

As you may have seen at our stockists or any markets that we have attended recently, a number of our labels have changed. We thought that instead of having all the labels in the exact same colours that it would be so much easier to spot the varieties if they had their own individual labels. So far Chilli Original and Chilli Lime and Ginger have had a makeover.

Though not a new product as such Chilli Burns has changed quite a bit since we first invented it. It is now presented in a Kilner Jar and has a suggestion tag on the jar with its many uses.

A new seasonal preserve for this year was also introduced in May and Strawberry Chilli with White Balsamic seems to be proving quite popular.

Award

Chilli Burns was launched in the new format at the recent Devon Chilli Fiesta and you will be pleased to hear that it won best chilli preserve at this event - most definitely a highlight of the fiesta.

Finally

Aye, we have finally got a newsletter up and running which will be produced monthly. You can subscribe, following the link on the homepage and we plan to have the first one appearing in your inbox at the end of this month.
